INTRO
Abegael has been telling the great myths of world culture, the material that folklorist Mircea Eliade calls the really real, for many years.
Myth comes from the Greek muthos, which means stories and also the telling of stories. Through the liminality of story, symbol, ritual, sound and humour, it is possible to re-connect with a sense of confidence in the processes of life. Abegaels’ commitment, though mythopoetica (loosely translated as a poetic rendering of world story), is to participate in the creative process of re-imagining the world as a whole, healed and sustaining being.
Her presentations evoke the power of both traditional and personal story, for all world tales call forth our own life stories. It is even impossible to live outside of a story, for the world is made of stories, not atoms (M. Rukseyer).
Abegael’s intention is also to help people re-engage with their own life story, and to experience the joy of shaping and telling that story.
Apart from that, she is a very funny and lively teller!
